Writing – This week is special Grandma Writing Workshop Week!!! You
are going to work together with Grandma to write a short story. On Friday,
Mommy and Daddy will help you present the story to the little kids like a play.
1. Think about your favorite
characters from some of the recent stories you have read. What were they like?
What made them so great? What kinds of problems did they have? What sorts of
things did they do? Make a list in your writing notebook with 5 things that you
think make a character really interesting.
2. Brainstorm with your brother
and Grandma and decide what you want your story to be about. Will it be an
adventure story, a funny story, a scary story, a school story???
3. Once you have an idea of what
you want to write about, make up two characters for the story and your brother
will make up the other two characters. On the Character Map Worksheet,
describe the characters (one on each side of the paper).
