Grade 3- Week 1 (Day 1-5)

Day 1-

Math- Log into Kahn Academy and do 20 minutes with an adult.

Reading -

1. Listen to the story of Paul Bunyan.

2. The story of Paul Bunyan is a tall tale. What parts of the story are obviously made up?

3. We are going to be reading and writing poetry at first this year. When you write poems, are you going to write crazy, made up things or are you going to write about real life?

4. Read this poem out loud a few times to practice. Now set a timer and see how fast you can read it.

5. Watch this Paul Bunyan Cartoon.

Science- Read Pg 22-23 in your Science textbook and write the answer to the quick check in your science notebook

Music-

1. Listen to this Music of Nature

2. Mix together some different sounds

1. Sing along to the Hallo song and the Auf Wiedersehen song.

2. Read the lyrics of Onkel Fritz Hat Einen Zoo. Can you sing the song?

Day 2-

Computer - Easy Peasy Day 2

Science- Read Pg 24-25 in your Science textbook and write the answer to the quick check in your science notebook

Day 3-

Science- Read Pg 26-27 in your Science textbook and write the answer to the quick check in your science notebook

Art-

1. Take a tour through a cave in France HERE. Look for cave paintings.

2. Watch a tour HERE.

4. The Onkel Fritz song talks about many cows running around. Can you sing it again and say many cats are running around? Cats is Katzen in german. How about dogs which is Hunde?

6. Go ask you sister how she is in German. Go tell your brother, "I am not good," in German.

Day 4-

nicht gut - not well

schlecht - bad/not well

Es geht. - OK

wunderbar - wonderful

Es geht mir (nicht) gut - I am (not) well.

krank - ill

4. Go ask Mommy, "How are you?" and then tell her how you are. Do the same thing with one brother and one sister.

Day 5-

Reading- Read Chapter 4 of The Goblet of Fire

Writing- Answer 2 questions from the Goblet of Fire Chp 1-8 questions

Vocabulary- Do HPGF1-4

Science- Read Visual Summary on Pg 29 in your Science textbook. Write the answer to questions 1-6 in Think, Talk, Write in your science notebook

PE/Health-

1. Ask your mom what you can scrub or find a stubborn stain.

2. Scrub it until your arm hurts and then scrub another minute more.
